Other Metal Piping Bonding

Article 250 - Grounding / Bonding · Article / reference: 250.104(B)

Key Requirements

  • Other metal piping systems likely to become energized shall be bonded as required by 250.104(B).
  • The bonding conductor or jumper is sized from the applicable rule based on the circuit likely to energize the piping.
  • The connection shall be made to an approved bonding point identified by the rule.

Exceptions / Watch Items

  • CSST systems can have manufacturer instructions and fuel-gas-code bonding requirements beyond the electrical rule.
