All grounding electrodes described in 250.52(A)(1) through (A)(7) that are present at a building or structure shall be bonded together to form the grounding electrode system.
Electrodes shall be installed and supplemented as required by 250.53.
The grounding electrode conductor shall be installed and protected in accordance with Article 250.
Exceptions / Watch Items
Rod, pipe, plate, concrete-encased, structural metal, and water-pipe electrodes have different qualifying conditions.
Common Field Gotchas
Do not ignore an available concrete-encased electrode during new construction.
