Termination Temperature Limits

Key Requirements

  • Conductor ampacity shall be based on the temperature rating of the termination as required by 110.14(C).
  • Equipment provisions and conductor size affect whether the 60 C or 75 C limitation applies.
  • A conductor with 90 C insulation does not by itself make a 90 C termination ampacity permissible.

Exceptions / Watch Items

  • Listed equipment identified for other conductor temperature ratings is used in accordance with its listing.
